Marie Clark Musical Theatre is a non-professional music theatre company performing in Adelaide, South Australia. We exist to:
– promote an appreciation of live theatre within the community;
– provide entertaining public performances of live theatre involving acting, singing and dancing; and
– encourage adult performers of all ages to develop their talents and self-confidence to the limits of their abilities.
Since inception, Marie Clark Musical Theatre has performed over 50 productions, ranging from Gilbert and Sullivan shows, where it started with Trial By Jury, HMS Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance, through classics such as Oklahoma!, Paint Your Wagon, Me and My Girl, new Australian works like The Merry Widow from Bluegum Creek and Paris, by the Australian rock icon, Jon English, The Boy From Oz, Jesus Christ Superstar, Honk!, The World Goes Round, The Buddy Holly Story and the Broadway classic, A Chorus Line. In recent years, Marie Clark Musical Theatre has sought to present new shows to Adelaide audiences including their multi-award winning production of Young Frankenstein – The New Mel Brooks Musical, and Jekyll & Hyde. The company has received recognition for many of its recent productions, including winning the Adelaide Theatre Guide Curtain Call awards for ‘Best ensemble’ (2018 winner, Spamalot; 2015 winner, Young Frankenstein), ‘Best male’ (2018 winner, Jekyll & Hyde), and the much-coveted ‘Best musical’ (2015 winner, Young Frankenstein; 2018 nominee, Spamalot). We are always looking for new shows and directors to take the company from strength to strength, so please contact us if you have any suggestions!
