We’ve put together just a few clips to remind you how much fun it is to sing in all kinds of situations – how about putting these guys (and girls) to shame and show us your favourite Karaoke hits? Your big chance is coming up this weekend, on Saturday 21st April 2012 from 7pm. Marie Clark Musical Theatre is holding a fundraising open-mic karaoke night at the DeafCanDo hall, South Tce, Adeaide, from 7pm until midnight, and everyone’s invited!

Although we’re a musical theatre company, the karaoke repertoire won’t be limited to just these songs (although you can sing as many musical theatre songs as you like!). We’ll be uploading a song list during the week both here and on our Facebook page (found here), so make sure you check it out before Saturday so you can spend less time reading and more time singing!

Tickets are now available online at the following address (http://www.trybooking.com/20983), or can also be bought on the night at the venue for $5 more (that’s $15 each – but it’s a fundraiser remember). Alcohol and soft drinks will be available to purchase (no BYO please) at reasonable prices, and all money made on the bar will go straight to the DeafCanDo charity to support the work they do. Money made from entry tickets will go directly to Marie Clark Musical Theatre to help support the exciting shows we produce (such as A Chorus Line, opening May 2012). Most of the cast of A Chorus Line will be present on the night, so feel free to come along just to make some new friends, catch up with some old ones, and get the inside word on what it’s like working with Marie Clark Musical Theatre.

Don’t know anyone else who’s going? Bring a friend! Everyone is welcome! No pressure, no critics, just an empty stage, thousands of songs to choose from, a microphone and you – and a friendly and supportive crowd of course! We really hope to see you there!

Karaoke will be running all night, on a state of the art system with fabulous lighting and sound, so you can become Adelaide’s own Lady Gaga, Beyonce….or maybe even Elton John. With well over 10,000 songs to choose from, you can sing whatever you like! Bring your friends!

This event is open to everyone, and will not be restricted to musical theatre repertoire.

Until December 31st 2011, Marie Clark Musical Theatre is giving you the opportunity to secure early bird tickets to our 2012 shows at a significantly discounted rate. For only $120 (that’s $20 a ticket), you can get a book of 6 ticket vouchers valid for either of our 2012 season shows – A Chorus Line in May 2012, and a soon-to-be-announced show for October 2012. Regular adult ticket prices are $25 each (so that’s a $30 saving already), but for our second show in 2012 ticket prices will be rising to $28 for adults (so you could be saving nearly $50!). Don’t wait around – only 100 books are available, and these are strictly first-come, first-served.

To organise your book of ticket vouchers, ring Merici in our Box Office on 08 8251 3926 and book (and pay) before December 31st – we’ll post them directly out to you as soon as we can (at no cost). If you know anybody who enjoys a great night at the theatre, this would make an excellent Christmas gift (or even a little treat for yourself).
